Why don’t you read the part where it says you USD wallet is covered by FDIC insurance

yes i already said that

we were talking about USD with a bank account getting hacked

i ask again, what is the insurance policy with the USD in your bank? this will be amusing

Imagine these burnouts that put some money in bitcoin for drugs and every time they go to buy more drugs there’s magically more money in their wallet. It’s a never ending supply of drugs.

FDIC for bank solvency, liability for hacks/fraud

<——works for financial institution

Now why don’t you tell us what your recourse is if someone steals your untraceable bitcoin?

That was me at about $50-60 per. Still wish I had kept some. I had like 12 at one point.

All digital currency that Coinbase holds online is fully insured. This means that if Coinbase were to suffer a breach of its online storage, the insurance policy would pay out to cover any customer funds lost as a result

Ok so where is your bitcoin wallet stored? Is it stored with coin base or is it stored on your computer? If it’s with coinbase then they can use your private key when they like. If it’s on your local hard drive then my original question still stands.

your question is like asking if someone had access to your bank account login name and password if they could drain your account?

sorry, its really not worth entertaining,

if you give someone your blockchain login keychain, then youre a dumbass

Did ya notice in their little disclaimer that if your individual account gets hacked, you’re shite out of luck?

Look, I know you’ve been attacked in this thread for a good while now, but it only took me 3 YouTube videos to ask a VERY valid question about how I get my bitcoin back if someone steals my hard drive.

Food for thought. And like I said, I know hardly anything about the financial world or this new crypto currency. I’ve just happened to have read a few books on cryptography and watched literally 3 YouTube videos.

No it’s not. Not at all. You can file a claim with your bank for fraud just like if your PIN was stolen.

But shite gets stolen ALL of the time including where you store your crypto wallet. The insurance you keep quoting is if your bitcoin gets stolen from Coinbase.

A better anology would be if someone had their physical wallet stolen and it contained their life savings. THEN They would have little recourse.

I just get the feeling cryptocurrency is for the big boys to use like world governments and the like. Not for individuals to eventually be using to buy everyday goods and services.

I see it being useful in niches, but it is finite and fluctuates so quickly that it can never be the world currency that some think it is

So cryptocurrency is like if you kept all of your money under your mattress because you didn’t trust the bank?

We usually laugh at people like that.

There has to be a way around this problem that people smarter than me can come up with. I would say having a third party crypto wallet holder would be an answer but again, data breaches are a problem.

Then you’d have to have real FDIC protection and like stated before, why would your government insure a currency it didn’t have anything to do with?

Idk. Hopefully there will be answers.

“Yes Coinbase Insurance Co? I’d like to make a claim because someone stole all of my bitcoin”

“Yes sir. What details can you give us of the theft?”

“I dunno. It’s untraceable”

“So then how do we know it was stolen? Goodbye sir”
