Not a good day for "men of god" and prostitution. I went to this church as a kid and i know there are several on here who do or have attended this church so you may know him.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- A Montgomery County religious leader has been charged with prostitution. According to charging documents, 52-year-old Eddie Hilburn was taken into custody after he agreed to pay for sex. Officials at The Woodlands First Baptist Church confirmed that Hilburn is an associate pastor. According to the church's website, Hilburn has been with the church since 2012 and had previously served at other churches across Texas and Wisconsin.

To be fair, it's pretty "Christ like" to hang out with a prostitute.

Remember, you're not paying for the sex, you're paying for them to leave.

He's Baptist, not Catholic, so a woman.

You remember a non life-altering encounter with an associate pastor, from a church you don't attend and from 'a few years ago' that vividly?

I can't wait to hear his public statement about satan trying to take him down and hurt his church.

It's a tough spin. There are only so many reasons a man would seek the company of ladies of the night.

Actually my aunt called me as soon as she found out and told me about it and asked if I remembered meeting him. She had to jog my memory but I do. It's funny how people get accused of lying about the most inane shite on here.

Dear Church Family,

It is likely you have heard about the arrest of Eddie Hilburn Wednesday night. I wanted to assure you that I, along with Chairman of Deacons Ron Smith, our Staff Ministry Team and the entire staff have been busy doing our very best to respond to this situation appropriately.

I can tell you now that Eddie has resigned and his resignation has been accepted. Please pray for Eddie, Lisa and his family. We are committed to helping them all move forward in the best way possible.

The following is the public statement we are releasing this afternoon:

In regard to the recent arrest of Dr. Eddie Hilburn, The Woodlands First Baptist Church has received and accepted his resignation and has taken steps to notify the congregation. This is a difficult time for Eddie, his family and our church. We continue to seek God's will with grace and truth, providing love and support to all those affected, while reaffirming our commitment to the highest expectations for our Church and its leadership.

If you would like to speak to me personally about any of this, my email is bruce@thewoodlandsfirst.org. Please leave your phone number, and I will do my best to respond to you as soon as possible.

This is incredibly painful on many different levels. I will be praying for you, and ask you to please pray for me. I am looking forward to worshipping with you and being together Sunday Morning.

I love you,

Dr. Bruce

I'm not going to pass judgment, but prostitution should be legal anyway. Legalize, regulate, tax it, profit. You can make a law that states that it can only be done at brothels. Keeps women off of the streets and away from abusive pimps, protects customers, stops wasting police resources. Prostitution is never going to stop. Might as well stop wasting our resources trying to bust some women trying to make ends and concentrate more resources on stopping sex/human trafficking. Also, nice tax revenue stream we can use for schools, hospitals, etc.

And AIDS clinics. IIRC the brotherls in AMS are all regulated in the sense that they must submit to disease (sexual and otherwise) screenings.
