As a black man, do you have any idea to stop black on black crime?

Shouldn't it be "Ax a Black Guy a Question"?

If you did one of those DNA tests, what's the chances you'd come up like 40 % Scottish or Italian or Korean or something?

what? Your hood didn't have a bootleg sweet shop?!
We had a convenience/corner store we always used to bike up to when we were kids, and often got candy there.

There is no panacea for this. Most crimes committed are intraracial anyways. Stopping black on black crime involves stopping white on white crime and Latino on Latino crime and crime in general, as a matter of course.
Good news is, crime seems to be trending down across the board (depending on which stats you're using). The facts that are obstacles are: 1.) The lower the socioeconomic bracket, the higher the crime.....2.) Ask disproportionate number of black folks are in these lower brackets (which self-perpetuate a vicious cycle of victim hood and excoriate may if those who attempt to get out on their own via any means other than the entertainment industry).
The problem to focus on, then, is not necessarily the myopic metric of black in black crime (although it can't be dismissed--it IS a major problem), but to focus on how to help blacks elevate themselves to more favorable circumstances. I had a decidedly middle class upbringing because both of my parents got themselves up out of the ghetto.
Keywords: "both" and "parents" That's the reason for the majority of any of what I call success in my life (hell, I spent most of my drive home just now talking to my mom on the phone about politics, and my dad emails me from his job at least 3x a week). That's why I'm taking impending fatherhood so seriously--it's so vital to establishing that foundation upon which success can more feasibly be built, IMO.

AMEN. I think presenteeism by parents and education (ie getting one) are the two biggest things to stem the tide of violence. Now, making sure that shift occurs is some serious heavy lifting.

Do you feel that people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson actually advance the cause of making race relations better, or do you think that they use racism as a way to gain money and notoriety and do not genuinely care that much about day in and day out race issues?
No they are opportunist. Jesse Jackson is my frat brother and I met him several times. Each time he turns our fraternity meetings to some campaign to push his democrat agenda.

My dad grew up in Bryan/College Station (A&M grad). My mom was born in New Jersey, lived in Chicago for a spell, but did most of her growing up in southwest Michigan (Michigan grad).
