They knowingly put themselves in this position, therefore they deserve the ridicule IMO. They would never be sorry if they weren't ever caught in the first place.

Eh, I'm sure the huge majority never did anything.

You live in a sanitized, water-downed version of the criminal justice system. The side of the pendulum marked "punishment," used to be far more morbid, macabre and public, and it absolutely deterred crime.

No offense, but your age-and perhaps your lack of understanding in how trials and punishment were far more public spectacle (and in many cases more gruesome) in the past-is informing an opinion that quite simply isn't grounded in reality.

Really?

Everyone that is married has thought about cheating. It doesn't mean they did it or had to explain it to their SO. If you are married I would bet that you wouldn't even want to share your browser history with you SO

It will if the punishment is severe enough.

You go ahead and continue to support this guy, your knight in shining armor. What a hero.

I'm sorry that you think this way. So it's okay for someone to murder children in schools because we don't have enough security?

I've noticed you and I have pretty much opposite thoughts on everything, you must be a woman.

Anyways, I'm sorry, but this doesn't equate to murdering children in schools. This is about data privacy. You made quite the leap there.

Explain. I'm pretty sure I probably had an Ashley Madison profile at some point, but I never paid anything or talked to anyone. I'm guessing there are a ton of people like me, the majority, in fact.

Wtf? How am I supporting any of this? I actually have not posted an opinion one way or the other

The statement that jail time would deter hackers is asinine

Sure, but it's never seen this scale before. It's getting out of hand. Hackers think they are invincible and feel like they do not have to obey the law. That needs to change before things get even worse. Don't forget many terrorist groups (ISIS) operate on the deep web, these self proclaimed hacking heroes are paving the way for these savages to really hurt America and its people.

But it's okay, you people continue to support it. Cheaters got exposed - cool!!!!!!! Let's all point and laugh.

You aren't openly against hacking, so I assume you support it.

You're wrong about putting these criminals in jail. It will make a huge impact and make these people think twice about going after sensitive data on the mainstream internet.
