As for the citizens, they should live by a rule of giving an officer your name and ID and advising him immediately that an attorney has advised you to not make any statements beyond that. Don't argue with him but don't provide him any information whatsoever either. Let him just do what he's going to do and if he makes the decision to make an illegal arrest, just fight another day and sue the shite out of him.

As for cops, there is no question in my mind that we have a problem with LE these days. That's a very generic statement because I also realize that there are good cops. Problem as I see it is that the profession, on a whole, attracts ill qualified people in the first place. I'd rather see my force cut in half but have better qualified officers that make twice as much in order to attract qualified people and avoid the boy scouts with a badge syndrome. You can train them all you want. I think most get the training. They just choose to ignore it and ignore constitutional rights. More training won't fix that. Getting better human beings to serve as cops will fix that.

but if you believe an otherwise normal officer just wakes up one day and decides to go out and kill a citizen then you are an idiot
Well maybe you are just making a general argument (and this isn't directed at my post), but nowhere in my post did I insinuate that stance whatsoever.

Where did you get your number for a rate of 60 times greater?

Edit: never mind, I was reading the first two as this year and not 20+ years.

Steroid abuse by police has reached epidemic proportions.

They need to either all take mandatory drug tests weekly for mood altering drugs AND PEDs or else turn in their guns.

Also, they should be prosecuted in 98% of these killings. About one in every 50 are legit where they had no other option. The other 49 are driven by roid rage and bloodlust.
