By the way the Wiz was a great rendition of The Wizard of Oz geared towards giving credit to black actors and actresses. Very good movie.
But.
So now we need Welcome to Oz where two lesbians one of which is a green Rosario Dawson (Asoka) remake of The Wizard of Oz to make it more DEI acceptable.
Can’t these people create original works of art themselves or are they only able to ruin historical greet works of art by others with their BS.

I wouldn't go that far. It did pair up Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones though so without the Wiz there would be no Thriller album and without the Thriller album there would be no "King of Pop" and without the King of Pop there would be no post-modern Corey Feldman.
So I suppose we do owe it a debt of gratitude.

How original is a movie made after a 39 year old book? I don't see making a movie after the original movie, the same 39 years later, as being any less original than the original movie.

We had a singing group at Lee High called The Wiz which was a black counterpart to the mostly-white Rebeliers. They were very good and entertaining to watch.

Who is that ugly arse sin woman in Wicked that got so mad?

Wicked has been around for more than 20 years in musical form and 30 years as a novel.
What’s it like to be so uncultured?

Was it, though?
I don't remember it that way.

Wicked is basically what Grendel is to Beowulf.
I think the Wizard of Oz will survive.

And don't forget the tv show Oz, for and about gay men.

we have season tickets to the theater here. seems like Wicked is on the schedule every other year.
it seems to be the most frequent play we get.
