6
Starter home about a year or so after marriage.
3 years later move for a promotion to another state.
3 years later a block down the street for more space.
4 years later for a promotion closer to home… a serious McMansion.
2 years later to move back home.
8 years later, hopefully to my forever home, but hope for vacation property.

2. Didn't buy first one until I was 30 in 2011 about a year before we had our first. Moved when we had our 3rd. 1100 sq feet was smaller for 4. It was REALLY small for 5
Spent the first 5 years of our marriage doing traveling contracts and paying off almost 100k in student loans before we bought one.

We built a starter house in 1996, lived in it for 7 years.Built our second house in 2003 and stayed until our kid graduated college. Sold it at a good time and bought some land and will start building our 3rd house in January.

Four but hopefully by the end of 2025 I will be searching for number five. That would be the last house that I have owned.

Home warranties cover replacement of expensive stuff.
As far as your toilet is concerned, if you don't clog it with paper and other stuff, you shouldn't have too many issues.

Built and lost one in 2008. Own 2 houses debt free today. Lots of folks getting ready to see that smoke in the next 12 months.
