I know the OT loves to discuss the river boat pilots bar in Louisiana, but here is one on the pilots over in Mobile...

While we are at it, the SIX riverboats in shreveport all have to have riverboat captains
These boats are hard-anchored to the shore of the massive, raging red river.
After each initial sail to get to shreveport, these boats will never sail again.

It's a state law was put in from the beginning when some of them actually had to run up and down the river for an hour or so once a day during good weather and they never changed it. It's another money grab by the state.

A friend of mine gave me great advice: take 5 one dollar chips as soon as you cash in and put in you pocket. Use that for tip money to keep getting drinks

We have only been on a boat maybe three times and all when they first came out. Met another couple on Valentines Day after dinner- a Tuesday night, each up a couple of hundred when it started to sail. By the time we cashed in too late to get off. 1:00 am it comes back to dock and none of us had a penny left and all had to work at like seven. We were pissed.

No. They are building a bridge. But will still have the Bankhead tunnel. The channel in the bay is pretty narrow too.

The only thing that should be said to these pilots... Don't get greedy.. Much easier when you don't make pay increase demads when your making well into 6 figures..
