Spotlight? Mr. Williams needs to be drug from office and embarrassed on the streets. His behavior and decisions have cost the lives of the people he’s supposed to protect….Yet, his actions have only protected the violent criminal element.

Do you even here about car jackings in Jefferson Parish let alone an increase? When you have a functioning government, a functioning police force, and a functioning District Attorney's Office you don't get what you see in New Orleans. Facts.

How does he 18-year old, the Mom, or the person who shot up the house going for the Mom possibly live with themselves? Like, seriously, how are people's moral compasses this screwed up?

They have no moral compass. They live by the rules of the street. These kids have absolutely no social skills and aren’t equipped to live in society. I remember once when I lived in the Garden District in New Orleans, I went to Wal Mart. There was a “woman” in the parking lot screaming about her son. Apparently he was in prison for murder. The mother was not happy about the sentence. She felt her son was justified in murder because he was being disrespected.

May not be a popular viewpoint, but I have no issue with going after the families that raised and put these animals out into the public. I learned a long time ago that if you want to cause some pain to someone, don’t bother trying to hurt them. Go after mom, dad, grandma or a sister. Living with the fact you brought this upon a family member may stop some of this.

Major crime in unincorporated Jefferson Parish dropped 12 percent in 2021, with decreases in four of the seven categories of offenses, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
It marks the lowest level of crime since the agency began tracking the statistics in 1974, Sheriff Joseph Lopinto III said.
“I’m fully aware that the perception of crime is up, but the numbers don’t reflect that,” Lopinto said. “I’m happy to report it’s the lowest we’ve been.”

n unincorporated areas in 2021, sheriff's deputies responded to 8,571 reports of crime that fall into the seven categories reported annually to the FBI: murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, theft and auto theft. That’s fewer than the 9,720 reported crimes in 2020, continuing a downward trend that began in 2014.
