Arnold is a huge douche, but not a meathead. You are correct, he is very intelligent. More than that though, he's cunning. More than THAT, the guy has an ENORMOUS will and boundless self-belief. He had a plan for his life and carried it out. Dude came to America speaking German with like $1 and ended up Mr. Universe, a multimillionaire, a world famous actor, and the governor of California.

While I disagree with him being a douche, he literally lived the American Dream. He is a great example of how hard work can get you anywhere. He is easily one of the most talented people in the world.

Think, if it wasn't for certain rules, Arnold would be one of the most decorated bodybuilder, a famous actor, a governor, and possibly a president.

ust got my gym membership renewed, I can sort of understand the guy~ 10 months ago I was benching 225 and now I'm at a measly 85 (stopped swimming and lifting cause the poors problem for gym membership) ? got a whole bunch of mocking stares and that's at 5'8" 142#. No shame though cause I'll get back there! 5'8" 139# 225x8!

I honestly don't see how this is possible. Did you get cancer or something?

Swimming 5x per week for 1-2 (all four styles; albeit HORRIBLE breaststroke/backstroke) hours per day for 2 years contributed to a very easy transition to weightlifting for me. My buddies were surprised that I could lift 185 my first time benching at my weight. Got up to 225 in a month and then I promptly discarded my college gym membership after graduating/moving away from campus. Fast forward 8 months of intermittent biking/running/no swimming/no weightlifting... Once strong 225 lifting chicken arms became 65 pound lifting chicken arms

I had always only done arm curls with free weights and the thing where you hold a free weight above your head and lower it to strengthen your triceps? Legs and core were taken care of by bike and swim~ the arm curls seemed to do enough haha.

Bench looked intimidating to be honest. And I didn't want to lift only the bar, 45#, which I thought was my max the entire time before my friends kept adding weight to the bar that first time. I truly didn't know whether 185# was good or not. I kept thinking my friends were poking fun at me saying, "that's good" cause we're a pretty sarcastic group.

I was a lean 139# last year. I'm at 143# right now with most of the weight in my legs. Arms and stomach are a bit... Plump compared to last year ha.

When I read his response, my brain heard it in Arnold's voice.

When I was 15 and before I ever did weights, I was about 5'9 and 100lbs, I grew about two inches and more than doubled my weight at one time before getting back to the 170s. I can believe 6'5 130

225 to 85? Jesus christ. I guess I haven't stopped lifting for that long since I started though. That's nuts.

I guess I don't understand this either. I was in the 8th grade when I started working out. The day I walked in to 8th I was 5'8 145, the day I walked into 9th I was 5'10 225. Wasn't very lean because I ate wrong, but I was benching around 275. I stopped working out when I was 17 or so. However, I never lost muscle like he is talking about. Maybe it is because I worked physical jobs, or because I'm one of the lucky ones who can build muscle whenever I want without using a ton of enhancers. I just don't see how you lose 140 lbs of bench in 10 months.

On the OP. Arnold has always supported other guys. Even when competing against them. The man knew he could motivate, use his willpower to bolster others. I'm glad he continues to do so even after his lifting days are over.

It takes a special kind of a-hole to laugh at somebody on their day 1. If anything offer a couple tips, a spot, and tell the guy to stay with it. Laughing at someone in that spot says a lot about your own personality flaws.

You need to touch up on your Arnold history bro. Arnold is the man whether he took steroids or not.

You need to read more about Arnold for one, and you obviously don't understand how steroids work.
