So turns out kid was busted pulling car doors on camera a block over. Kid does not live in neighborhood and was scoping out the guys house. Deserved what he got.

“Half of violent crimes are committed by blacks” doesn’t mean “half of blacks commit violent crime”.
Disproportionate doesn’t mean that it’s likely.

I just don't understand sticking around.
Everybody is trashing the army guy, but why was the guy just sticking around? What good comes from escalating a situation that doesn't even have to be? They had enough film of the guy being an arse to file some report or put him on blast.
They said he had been there for 15 minutes, but why? To continue to piss them off in efforts to prove some point? I understand not wanting to be harassed and taking a stand against it, but I'm not sure it's worth it to stick around that long. You can't really reason with a person like that.
Is it really worth testing a potentially deranged person over pride? I'm just not sure it's worth potentially getting into a physical altercation over.
If they want to make it about race, then imagine a white guy standing out in front of a black neighborhood being told he doesn't belong there. I would hope he would leave. Would that be a huge news story? No. It wouldn't. I don't get testing insane people, but to each their own. I am fine if they want to put him on blast though. Just don't get blasted.
