The place is a zoo on the best days. I cannot imagine what it will be like after being closed for at least 4 full days following the ransomware attack.

Folks there msy want to keep their cellphones out because it may be full Sonic/Chuck E Cheese/Popeyes when it reopens.

Not sure.

From what I’ve heard, the chaos won’t be limited to the OMV because numerous agencies are fractured on whether to resume business or to keep their servers down until the mess is cleared.

I think a number of organizations want their own servers to be up but want to kill links to other state agencies to prevent spread. This last part is speculation on my part but I think a lot of agencies who don’t have dead PCs yet think their data is clean. I’m thinking the problem is just dormant and will spread when they come back up.

It's going to be a while having to wipe puters and servers, reinstall OS, software, etc.
Some company will make some cool bucks if they contract it out and we'll probably be hit with a ransomeware tax.

Consider that the company that got the contract to protect our state computers probably spent more on campaign donations and graft than whatever outdated software they used.

I have only had them look at documents and write on state form, never do anything on computer. I would think you should be able to get inspection sticker.

I think they enter in the inspections after they do them.

Very doubtful Nicky. They won’t be checking either though.

I thought the emissions portion required computer access to a network. I could be wrong though.

Now they’re saying OMV closed until Monday. I’m starting to believe those ladies that work there are behind this whole virus.
