I was vacationing in Blue Ridge Georgia ( North GA mountains.). I heard a radio interview with a DNR Officer who was warning people not to eat or touch armadillos because of leprosy. I laughed.

So is Carville getting a few new residents?

I hope they bring them to Carville.

rmadillos are included in Louisiana's list of "outlaw quadrupeds," meaning those with valid hunting licenses can shoot them year-round during daylight hours.
I've never shot an armadillo while the sun was up

They don't go to Carville anymore. Leprosy clinic is in Baton Rouge.

When the sun is up you can chase them through fields with four wheelers. How me and my friends never accidently shot each other growing up is a mystery to me.
Teach kids gun safety at a young age and they can wipe out a farm full of armadillos without getting good hurt.

Even more reassuring: up to 95 percent of the population is genetically unsusceptible to contracting it. A Read more: LINK Give the gift of Smithsonian magazine for only $12! I had one hanging around in the woods for about an hour a couple seasons ago. Killed a doe with it still in the same area. Doe gave no shits. Armadillo jumped about three feet in the air when I dropped her though.

And Hansens Disease Clinical Center is located at the vet school.

Well, God is certainly thinning out the weaker minded. Who in the hell is going to put their bare skin on an armadillo. God doesn't hate Darwin. Darwin takes care of the gene pool.
