Keep "baws" and edit kayak to "yak" and I'll help out.

Assuming you are in LA, I would just fly out to northern NM, or CO. Arkansas is a dreadful part of the country.

You may want to try this on the OB. You'll get the help you're looking for.

Not much to the kayaking, there are a few rapid areas that make for some fun, but it's not like you need a helmet or anything. The water is very clear if it's anything like it was in March. If you want to fish the river I could hazard some advice, but I don't know anything about the fishing in Greeson.

Greeson is a beautiful lake and usually not as busy. Most people go a bit north to Lake Ouchita.

My experience fishing Greeson is strictly crappy fishing. There are lots of tops in the middle on the north side of the bridge that used to be loaded with crappy. They were deep and we would find them with depth finders. Some of those tops I helped put in the lake when I was a kid. We would mark the tops with buoys and then set our depth on our lines with bobbers stoppers. They used to absolutely love the gold shiners.

If you go about 30 minutes to your south, you can dig for diamonds in Murdreesboro.

Either way, it's beautiful country and the Ouchita Mountains are very nice.

Don't forget to get your Arkansas Kayak permit. Just stop in any place that sales fishing licenses and ask for one.

Small permit fee is better than a big fine, and they know how to spot out of towners.

Yea, I know where that is. There are some good spots there on the bank where you can pull a boat right up to the bank and leave it in all weekend.

I've only canoed the Caddo, never kayak. It's not a river with lots of Rapids. It's one that may be more fun on an inner tube.

There is also a big dam on the south side of Greeson that may be a good spot to catch some fish. If you go to the Ark Game and Fish web page, Greeson is one of the lakes that puts out a weekly fishing report.

Also, just on the north side of the bridge, if you go left there is a pretty high cliff that has real deep water you can jump off of. Being Labor Day, that area may be packed with folks pretty early. Also, for any fishing you want to do on the lake, the farther north of the bridge you go, the less boats you will encounter for better fishing. Most of the playing will take place on the south side of the bridge.
