Also was paying for high speed internet, something like 25mbps or whatever it's called. I did a read and it was running at like 12

I can't speak for how it is not that they are with directv but they were consistently solid... never had any problems with it

Like I said neighbors have it and have no problem. It was dumb to pay $70 for cox when I could pay the exact same I was paying to direct TV for TV and get the internet with it

Then you call again and they send the guy with the bucket truck and he tells you that the Prius guy oversold you on Internet and the reason it keeps going out is because they're trying to run too much signal through the 100 year old wire att uses and that the closest signal box is more than a mile away and the only way to make the Internet work consistently is to downgrade you to the slowest speed

This is all truth. I was a contract PM for AT&T and my crews installed all of the head end and ROW equipment. They are spending millions installing equipment all to run their services on cable that is 30+ years old and designed to carry POTs lines not 50MB internet.

It depends on where you live, I guess. The OP says his neighbor has had it and has had no issues. I've had it for 6 years with no issues. I can't even remember having more than a couple short outtages and they have been pretty good with customer service, despite the issue with running cable to the wrong part of the wall.

When I designed my house I put a false wall into the entertainment center back to be able to run the cables hidden behind it.

If you have sheetrock already up he's not going to be able to get through the stud without cutting a hole big enough. Which I'd do if I was you.

Drywall is easy and cheap to fix.

Well I needed the internet moved out of the room it was currently in. I figured I'd just go through with a new install and save some money each month. If I was able to run and splitter with direct TV coax for the Cox I probably wouldn't have went through the trouble of switching
