Supposed to be leashed? This couple was in the store with their ESD, and he came right at me. Not aggressively, but isn't he supposed to stay by his owner?

He sensed your emotional distress and came to support you.

Are you feeling suicidal friend? People care about you.

Very few of them are legit support animals. The vast majority are just people with an unhealthy relationship with their dog. Like coyote.

She had her boyfriend/husband with her. Apparently he isn't supportive enough.

That wasn't a working dog. They will never do something like that. That couple are a piece of shite and should be kicked out of the store.

Emotional support dogs are not service dogs. They are pets and their owners should abide by whatever rules a business has regarding pets.

IDK, but the first time I really noticed a support dog was in 2018 on a flight to Vegas. There was an older woman and I guess her son sitting across the aisle. She had a small dog in her lap, then I noticed the assumed son would then put the dog in its travel tent or whatever the are called.

It didn't have a leash, but it seemed like after that I started noticing more people with emotional support dogs. And not just old people. Like middle aged dudes. Could you imagine trying to pick up on a girl and having an emotional support dog?

I am not talking about the fact of having a dog with you, but the idea of saying "this is my emotional support dog". At what point is an emotional support dog needed?

Its ridiculous.

I was at a no pet hotel last night when I started hearing loud yapping from another room.

After about 20 min, I called the front desk about hearing incessant barking at a no pet hotel. The desk clerk said that it was a “service animal”. I told them I had suspicion that a legit service animal would be barking non stop like that. Of course they said they couldnt do anything about it.

So, I asked if it were my kid acting an arse in the room, banging on walls, disturbing other guests, would I be allowed to stay? What about it being a “service animal” allows it some special consideration that wouldnt be lent to anyone else? Of course the dumbass clerk didnt have an answer.

A trained support animal will stay with it's owner. I suspect that this was not a trained dog.
