Moving to Houston and thinking of renting to give us some time to figure exactly where we want to live. Also to let the market play out some.
Where do you want to avoid in Katy?

Is Katy Cinco not the place to be anymore?
We are looking in CypFair but there is fewer options.

Thus is a rough description
Draw a line down 10 and another down 99.
That gives you four quadrants.
Avoid the NE quadrant
SW is best
SE is pretty ok but tends to be older.
NW is where future growth will be.

Exactly this. And even the NE quadrant isn’t that bad.

This is where I’m at and I would move here again. On the front end of the Houston traffic so it’s not terrible. I make it from Fry Road to Westchase in 30 minutes even during rush hour.

If rates go to 10% he can also have fun with a house a lot cheaper than he could buy two months ago. Neither of those things are likely to happen, though.

There's a 99% chance rates will be at least 8% by the end of the year.

So what they call old town Katy, right NW of Katy city park would be okay or no? That is the NW quadrant.

Yes old Katy is fine. Taxes are higher I think Bc you have to pay city taxes there as opposed to unincorporated Katy.
