I'm going to go ahead and cover them tonight for 2 reasons.
1. I'm not going to feel like getting out in the cold rainy weather tomorrow night to do it.
2. I'm not needing to use mu outside faucets much this time of year, so I'll get them covered and they'll be ready for similar weather if we get it in the next couple of months.
I don't think there is much to worry about for this event. Not very long in duration, but who knows what we'll get later.

We do.
It doesn't get this cold very often. Last I remember it near -40 (and lower) was 2013. I do say -40, but there were reports that 8:30am windchill on Wednesday could be -55.

I wrapped the outside pipes and turned off the sprinkler system in early December. They will say that way until spring.

Its funny when people experience freezing temps for a few times in their lives...
Unless you are referring to exterior pipes, ones in a barn/garage, etc.. or in a home without any heat, you dont need to do shite.

No he won't. It's not going to get "pipe bursting" cold, y'all. Chill the hell out.
Last year we bottomed out at 14 and remained below freezing for probably 23 hours and I had zero issues with pipes. And I'm in an old house.

Assuming you are in the Baton Rouge area...no. It will not even get to freezing tonight. Tomorrow night is a maybe but earlier in the week they had it being much colder and it has trended warmer since. Still a freeze but just a light one and it won't be for many hours.
