Walt is a fricking idiot. He doesn’t mean anything he says. His little troll is played out.

If it is really bad, make sure you try different kinds.
The first one I was on sucked! I hated the side effects so much that I quit cold turkey, which in turn made me suicidal. It literally made me feel worse than when I wasn't on meds. I knew something wasn't right and told my husband to take me to the hospital, it was that scary. I ended up switching meds after multiple meetings with a psychiatrist. The drug she put me on worked wonders and I was eventually able to wean off (my depression was situational, not chronic).
So long story long, trying different meds can help. You just need to find the right one.

No doubt. The 'snap out of it' attitude is so frustrating.

It’s is definitely not a one size fits all type of thing.
Weird how different meds including generic forms of the original can work differently.
That doesn’t sound right.

Happiest I’ve ever been was the first couple years of marriage when we lived in a shitty little rent house and made $1000/mo.

It is just like people who tell addicts to stop their drug of choice. Like they want a response of "oh shite, I never even thought of that"

HC do you ever find that your meds aren’t working as efficient as they once did?

I do not take them any more. I was on them for anxiety and depression after my sister's suicide. I did NOT handle that well.
Once I finally dealt with her death I was able to wean off.
So I do not know the exact struggle of someone with chronic depression, but it runs in my family. So I have been around it for a long time.
