Are you content with what you have or are you always wanting more?

I’m the latter. I’m not wasting money but I’m always looking to buy that next thing and it never ends. Surely I’m not the only one.

Consumerism got that hook in you, as with 90% of Americans.

I mean i grew up as an only child to a single mom who made like 28k a year when I was a senior in HS.
I'm very frugal in my spending to say the least

Pretty much, I am a minimalist and hate to spend money on crap.

Lately, I have been having the desire to live more minimalist. I have been selling, donating, and giving away a ton of stuff. Eventually, I plan on having just what I need to live and enjoy a few hobbies. Tired of keeping stuff around "just in case" or only using it a few times per year at most when I could get by without.
Maybe it's a midlife crisis but all the stuff is an anchor and makes me feel overwhelmed sometimes. I want to be able to have fewer worries and headaches.

At work I always want more.
In my personal life I delegate 'always wanting more' to my wife.

I'm in between. When I spend a large chunk of money, I usually do it to increase the value of my house or buy a tool that I can use to create value around my house or help with projects outside the house. The last two purchases I'll be investing in are a shop on my property and I just bought a new Miller Bobcat 230.

At this stage of my life, I'm pretty content. Now I want the best for my kids.
I was never a person that wanted everything, but when I buy something I look for the best bang for my buck. Not the cheapest, but the best value then I tend to look for ways to make whatever it is better for me. I can't leave things alone. I guess that's the engineer in me, I feel like I can make most things better or more tailored to me and what I want out of it.

There are few things more fun than spending endless hours researching one’s next purchase.

On occasion, I look at the items I have accumulated and realize that when I die, someone's going to have to deal with all of this. I get a rush when I get rid of crap.
