Simple question... Do you think that homosexuals are born that way?
I think some people because of the adverse effects of sin are born with a inclination towards the same sex. Some men are born with a predisposition to becoming alcoholics. Some are born with an inordinate sex drive and an appetite to chase women. All of these predispositions though are sinful and not an excuse to act out on that sin.
God is greater than any sin and can deliver anyone who sincerely seeks to be delivered. At the very least, people can live a celibate life over entertaining urges to have sexual relations with the same sex.

One if the disciples said it was better that you didn't take on a wife... Did you?
But the didn't say that. Paul said it would be better to not marry and keep yourself untethered so you could serve Christ, but if you couldn't contain your sexual lusts, it was better to marry than to burn.

Semantics. Paul as a disciple, or not, said that.

How do you reconcile your sins?
Would you accept a homosexual telling you that you were an evil abomination for your sins...the same sins you commit everyday?

You do commit them almost everyday.

quote:The modern trend is to pray to Caesar and not Jesus, hence the anti-marriage campaign. Christianist extremists such as yourself have very little faith but a lot of fervor. You're all alabaster, but no jar. It's empty, hence your need for the government to conform to your faith, lest ye see two men holding hands and not feel right. You people have spent years praying to Caesar that he should persecute the gays in the interests of your personal faith, and it is the grand indictment of all of you. There is nothing in any translation of the Bible outlining government discrimination of gays as a Christian principle. You've asked Caesar to conform to your faith, and spake Caesar "Nay," and you all were devastated when you got the message. If you had the relationship with Jesus that you say you have, there wouldn't have been so much room in your hearts for the government.
This modern trend in Christianity to just simply embrace all manners of sinful behaviors for the sake of inclusion and under the banner of love

quote:If you consult His word, you'll be able to deduce that since there is no record of His ever addressing homosexuality, it wasn't an important enough subject for him to discuss.
I'll ask you a very simple question. Would Jesus have been in favor of homosexual sexual activity?
Care to follow His example, or will the obsession with two guys fricking continue?

I hate queers cause they're queers.

I wouldn't call it homophobia. I figure what people refer to as homophobia is actually disgust of the of the life style.

Why is it so important to you that we accept the fact you like to suck dick? News flash.... Nobody cares.

Are you homophobic, and if so why?
I don't feel homophobic. I am just repulsed by the thought of two men having sex. And there's not really anything that can be done to make me feel differently. I don't see celebrating the diversity happening anytime soon.

What's funny is you said this....
In the same post where you made seven declarative statements labeling him in some very negative ways...
I sense an unusually high degree of hate and vitriol in you towards him. Where does this come from?

You sure do spend a lot of time talking about how I choose to label you.

No you don't

You hate women

You want government sovereignty over women's vaginas.

You need so badly to project your inadequacy issues on gays and women that you have spent decades of your life soapboxing that the government should help you with this projection.

You're disgusting.

God shall smite you.

You are mocked and judged, as are all other Christianist extremists.

why would God set these poor people up for failure? Seems kind of cruel.

Words mean what they mean

You should certainly look up the definition of "marriage"

the legally or formally recognized union of a man and a woman
WOW you aren't sure what you believe are you?

I'm cool with people doing what they want to do.
If gay people go to hell, then it was pretty shitty of God to make homosexuals. It's like they will never be able to have a meaningful relationship with someone they are attracted to or else they will go to hell.

We probably should

Which should make it obvious that they are not born homosexuals they choose to be.

Why does it matter if they are born homosexuals or choose to be homosexuals?
It really doesn't matter.

I'm not a homophobe, but that's likely because my best friend's uncle is gay and he was somewhat around often when I was in middle school and high school. Hell, I even was in the guy's wedding (or whatever you call it) when he did the thing a few years back.
I also just don't really give a frick what other people do and just worry about myself.
But I also understand that people have beliefs and what not, it's the individuals who feel the need to picket with a sign that says, "figs go straight to hell" that need to be punched in the face.
