It's like saying you aren't racist towards blacks and referring to some of them as the N word
No, it's like saying I'm not racist, but at the same time understanding that folks of the N word persuasion come in both white and black. It's understanding the difference between honest folks who work hard and want to build a better life for themselves versus those who choose to mooch off the government, wear their pants down below their asses and rob, steal and rape. Again, both whites and blacks do this. Gay and Lesbians who want the same things in life that I do, I don't have a problem with. A better life for their children, a good job and brighter future. I don't want to be exposed to the flip side of that.

I think you're missing my point. If I thought of an individual as an N word, I wouldn't have any association with him, just as I refuse to have any association with over the top, flaming homosexuals.

I judge my opinion of social situations on how I felt if my kids came home and announced "______". So, if my son or daughter came home and said "dad, I caught the ghey", how would I respond?? The answer....Not well. Not well at all.

I've seen this happen to friends. I hate it for them, however I just can't understand how they shut a child out of their lives because of their sexual orientation. It's tough, I understand, but that's still your family.

Also, Jesus never petitioned Caesar to keep gays from marrying each other. But the Christianists aren't so interested in acting like Jesus as they are blaming their own inadequacies and insecurities on God.
