Are we soft now because our ancestors were tough?

Like the Ancient Greeks who spent centuries fighting wars with each other and other civilizations. Once they finally conquer everything they want they soften up and are easily out matched when Rome comes along. Like most tribal people who conquer a civilization, a few generations later they are soft and beaten by a different people
Are we weak because people born in the early/mid 1900's were strong? Is a strong civilization going to come a long and beat us soon because we aren't mentally tough now?

We're soft bc we don't have to be tough anymore. We don't have to hunt or gather, make our own anything, or have to fight for anything.

Fortunately everyone, except maybe tribes in Africa and the Amazon, are coddled and soft.
Technology and modern jobs have made us soft. We have to make an effort to stay fit.
