I got my driver's license in 1994 and the first movie I ever drove myself (and my date) to was Pulp Fiction.
In a 1977 Impala, metallic green.
The thing is, I was only 16, and in Georgia at the time, they would actually card you for a Rated R movie, you had to be 17 to get into it, so my date, who was 17, had to get out of the car and buy both tickets, then I met her inside.

To piggyback onto that, several months later and technically April of 1995, but same time period, I drove my Imapala with tinted windows full of my white high school friends to a black part of town to the only theater within 50 miles that actually carried the premier of Friday.
A cop pulls us over pulling into the theater. As soon as I roll the tinted window down and have my license and insurance in hand, he tells us to have a good time and never even had a reason to pull us over. White privilege was real in the 90's. Good thing we hadn't sparked up yet.
So we are parked, we spark up, get high as frick, and go in.
It was like that scene in Animal House where they go to the black bar.
We were the only white people in the entire theater, and it was awesome.
Friday is an awesome movie.
But I digress. That was 4 months after 1994. But this thread got me to reminiscing. Sorry for the derail.

OJ ran from the cops. Okay, pretty big moment in American culture
‘Friends’ debuted on TV Really popular TV show...I'll concede this one, even though I never enjoyed it
Kurt Cobain blew his brains out Pretty huge for teens at the time. Ok, 3 for 3
Green Day releases ‘Dookie’ Good album, won't be remembered for much longer. Your first miss.
GOP gets control of Congress for the first time in forever Not memorable for anyone who isn't politics obsessed.
Tupac is shot for the first time Didn't even die that time...this is nothing
Computer security expert Tsutomu Shimomura started to receive prank calls that popularized the trope "My kung fu is stronger than yours". No clue what any of this even is
Woodstock ‘94 happens I'm on the fence with this one. It was such a cash grab..the antithesis of the original. I suppose it was big news at the time. I'll give it to you
4/8. Not great, but better than I expected.

Two of the best movies of all time came from that year. Pulp and Redemption...was a very good year for film

Sounds like this trope still has a long way to go in order to be popular.
