Critical thinking is declining, people are softer. I don't know if it will doom society but it will make life a very petty social existence.

I offered my services to assist people suffering with infertility in another thread and got called a "moron". People can't even offer to lend a hand anymore so, yes, I would say society is certainly doomed.

A fair question could be proposed though.
You say technology just alters our perceptions of the people /world around us. But don't those perceptions have real world consequences? Won't it make people less trusting of one another simply because they know more that they don't like about one another?

I don't want to live in a country/world where everyone in government has the same exact views.
In theory, ultra-conservatives and ultra-liberals are suppose to compromise to keep things balanced.
The ultras on both sides have the same mindset, but just happen to have different views.
