Doomed, I tell you.
People need to get the frick off social media and quit watching the news.

What I find funny, is often when people talk about society is being doomed now, the reference the early to mid 1900s as the time society was better
And Im like those frickers had two world wars, a cold war, and we forced segregation
Yet, they are better because they didnt do stupid shite on social media like eat tide pods and shite?

Society, as a whole, seems to be improving.
I guess it depends what we like
Anxiety, depression and obesity are norms today.

But strangely, if you go back 40 years to 1978...
- Unemployment and interest rates were both double digits
- Violent crime was about 25% higher
- Inflation was twice as high
- There were lots more hot wars going on than now
Things are awful now cause the internet is telling you that.

I mean, yes, relatively speaking, without 24/7 "news" and "social" media, they were probably psychologically better off than we are now. Mass communication is a detriment to mental well-being.

I didn't say they lived life better (see above graphs I posed), I said psychologically they were probably better off (happier).
As it is now, there is absolutely zero segregation, yet social media would have you think it's worse than it's ever been.

Social media, in my opinion, has gotten people to believe many incorrect things, such as the premise of this entire thread.....

I think the 50s, 70s and early 80s bear that out.
Were overflowing with information, much of it false. Spending less time outdoors, socializing, etc. The Information Age is broad, but not deep. Our art reflects this.
We have all the things to make life easier yerpt are more depressed and anxious than ever. It's like the human spirit is slowly being muted

Not where I lived
Crime was a product of gang violence

I think mental health statistics say otherwise. Could it be under self-reporting then? Sure, but it could also be the former.

I'd say folks are less happy with their lives because social media distorts what you should expect out of it.
