I got one in the mail the other day from a trip to Dallas I took a month or two ago.
Pay it or trash it?
La tags on car.

No those are legit, need to pay it. I got one North of Dallas years ago, I called, I got it taken off because I was out of State. If it's your first time and from out of state, try calling them.
ETA: I was following a friend that lived in Dallas and had a toll tag...I followed him right through the auto toll

They actually can send these to collections and hammer you with fines you are legally obligated to pay

The truth is, there is no law on the books that directly allows for you to be arrested for not paying your tolls. However, you may be issued a citation by the Department of Public Safety to appear in a local Justice of the Peace court to respond to the complaint for nonpayment of tolls. If you fail to appear in court, you’ve then offended the Judge. Not good. Our best advice to you is pay your toll bills

To me, there is a difference between the BS traffic cameras, who have been shown to have all sorts of problems assessing if you were actually speeding/running the light, and a toll road camera, where you know damn good and well you used the toll road.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I've been down that toll road through Crestview, Florida (where there's a sign saying to drive through and they will mail you the toll) 5-6 times over the past few years and not gotten shite yet.
Are they just waiting to hit me with a big bill one day, or can I assume I skated through somehow?

I’ve gone through a couple accidentally while driving rental cars and I’ve never heard anything from it. This was a few years ago.

They may have a minimum before they mail the bill. Some do or won't mail to out of state licenses without a minimum toll accrued

they way they set our system up, and things change, was that a transient will be given a freebie, but if transient stays in the area and frequents the tollway(don't know how many times triggers it,) the transient will be sent a bill, ironic on here how every one knocks people on the gov't. dole, food stamps, welfare, whatever, but a lot of people on here so incredibly cheap about using a tax paid for public facility such as the toll system and want to stiff it, for what, a few bucks? I pay for it, why the hell can't you cheap SOBs

Because the mentality of the garden variety millennial is to "stick it to the man" whenever and however they can.

Hey, I'm not suggesting I won't pay it. I'm just not going to do anything to go out of my way to do so, when I read a sign that tells me to drive through and they will bill me.
What are you suggesting I should do here (that I'm not) to be an upstanding user of Florida tollways?

sort of an implied agreement? you can drive through and you will be billed for usage?

Under Texas law, someone who fails to pay a Toll Bill can be charged with a criminal misdemeanor for toll evasion under Chapter 370.11 of the Texas Transportation Code. If found guilty the vehicle’s registered owner can face fines of up to $250 plus court administrative fees for each unpaid toll.

I understand. I've been through a few times and not seen a bill. Are you saying I now have some sort of moral/civic duty to do something further about this?
