Ironically, I was at the local Walmart this morning. My glasses broke during the night (dumba** fell asleep with them on and I probably rolled over on them). I thought there was no chance getting them fixed on a Labor Day, but I checked and the Walmart vision center was open.

I went in and the lady spent about 15 minutes trying various screws until she found one that worled. Then she adjusted the frame so they fit properly and cleaned the lenses.

She wouldn't take any money. We went back and forth about that for a bit, until I remembered the (hard learned) lesson that, when somebody wants to do something nice for you, let them.

Anyway, I guess a lot depends on where you live.

Appears that there is no middle-ground between Nazi Germany and enforcing laws.

Godwins Law is about cheap Nazi comparisons. What I wrote wasn’t cheap-it was a historically grounded warning to the “billy club and police brutality comments.”

When we start celebrating police brutality as a tool of social order, history shows where that road can lead, and 1930’s Germany is a clear example.

Once a society excuses brutality against one segment of its people, it’s a short step to excusing it against others and it becomes normalized.

Ours do not, but the ones in Little Rock and Valdosta did. Not sure why.

I would normally agree with your assessment, but when people act like this their not acting like humans but more like animals. You can't reason with wild animals.

I work with black guys at my job and I could never see one of them doing this, they all have families nice homes, we all get along great . For years the media has told black people that it's ok to act this way because they have been done so wrong in the past. I think they just think that what ever they do is acceptable.

I agree with this and I agree something should be done about exactly what happened in the video.

My point was only towards the statement:

“the threat of police brutality kept the people in line”

And, “half of this country needs a good arse kicking to learn respect”

So police brutality is appropriate for half the country. Which half might they choose?
