Why did her mother dying trigger nightmares and talking in her sleep?

quote:not sure, but she never done that beforehand. She had alot going on at the time, she lost her job of 19 years the same day that her mother had a stroke. Im not sure if it was stress, not sure what it was, but it happened. Shes gotten better, but for about a year, she would wake you up screaming in the middle of the night. It was strange.

I have slept in a different bedroom for the last 11 years. It has literally saved our marriage. I'm not sure how I could sneak in my girlfriend if the wife and I slept in the same bed.

Best move ever I don't have to look at her and get a full nights sleep.

I know a couple that does it because the wife is a light sleeper and the dude gets up for work at 4am. Seems to work for them.
This is my situation exactly

Every now and then one of us falls asleep on the couch... does that count?

I only sleep in the bed some nights when we have sex.
I actually though it was rare that married people didn't sleep in the same bed. Feel a little better honestly.

We sleep together but bought a huge king size bed so it feels like you're sleeping alone with tons of space. Best of both worlds. Sleeping in different rooms would make me feel like we either had a terrible marriage or like we were really old people. But if it works for some folks, great.

I like to stay up late and watch TV but I always end up falling asleep on the couch. Every night

Don't all adults have a king bed in the master bedroom? I thought this was standard practice?

My husband does this at least twice a week
I used to be the one staying up late. Now I'm in bed by 8:30-9 most nights.

This.
ETA: surprised how many people don't sleep together. Not that it can't work like that, just wasn't expecting so many people to not share the same bed or room

My husband does this at least twice a week Does your wife wake you up so you can come sleep in bed, or just let you sleep there all night? If I wake up in the middle of the night to pee and realize he fell asleep on the couch...I'll go wake him up, mainly cause he's usually fallen asleep with his contacts in.
No. We have two kids under the age of 15 months. She values her sleep too much. lol

My sleeping arrangements depend on how bad I piss her off during they day. If I make her mad enough she sleeps on the old worn out queen in our spare bedroom. Sleep great in those nights.

Been married 11 years. Wife has mostly slept in separate room for the majority of that because I snore and she only sleeps 3-4 hours a night. Great marriage. She even follows me to bed a few nights a week for sexy time and the goes back in the living room until she goes to bed.
