This game has legit money being thrown around.

With very marginal hands too.

the BR LDL PLO game is well known around the entire region for idiots playing marginal hands in huge pots

i heard the underground Lafayette game got word of it and crushed them for a few months and they had to go to limit for a while

the 5-10-25 game here is INSANELY huge. like $10k stacks are the norm with $75 double straddles every hand

I make a living at the poker table. I make about 50k/year part time.

And everyone here would most probably know me.

i only played in Nola once (Harrahs about a year ago when i started playing poker again) and haven't played in BR for like 9 years now (and back then i was limit only)

I'm a former dealer from L'auberge and now deal in Biloxi. Left out the small detail of making my money from the poker table via tips

what dealers make seems to vary as wide as what poker players claim they make. i always hear them bitching about not making enough around here. i think full time v part time and which shift makes a huge difference

They would just check around with each other waiting for the "Bad Beat" jackpot to hit.

I got a table share of the bad beat a few times at the Beau. Best one was over $7,000 when the bad beat was at $240,000.

Best. Fold. Ever.

I had a dealer at Argosy tell me years ago he made enough to pay for his girls college, buy a camero in cash, and live comfortably.

Argosy...not sure if he was full of shite

I love poker threads...I could talk poker for days. I was part of Lafayette's underground back when poker was about to reach its peak.

Unfortunately I can't play for money now, except once every blue moon. I go by, if you can't afford to blow the money, you shouldn't be playing. And right now I don't have the extra to blow. Kind of ironic, back when I was in college I could "afford" it. Dont know if life was just that great and I had no worries then or I have just failed now. Its probably a combo of both.
