Are there people that play in the poker room as their main source of income? I go once every couple of months to knock down a few hours of poker and every time I go I always see the same people and I've always wondered.

If you do know of someone who does this, how well do they do?

Some probably do well if they prey on the mediocre drunk players that sit down knowing they probably going to lose some money

I play about once a year and I take advantage of those same drunk players.

The one I know makes more money than he did at his other job, which is why he does it full time now. He files taxes as a professional gambler. He told me he's making 6 figures but he doesn't just play one casino. He does tournaments all over the place. It was incredibly annoying to play causal games with him because he was always playing for real.

It's poker. If there is money on the table it's always real.

There are different levels of pros. Some are retired guys who win or loose small at LBR. There are around 25 to 50 professional players in BR. Average income is 50k ish but most of them don't pay taxes. Not a glamorous life. Also there are some of those 50 that travel the tournament circuit, most of them make 75k+

Two schools of thought here.
A. If you golfed with a pro would you expect him to play bad on purpose?
B. A true/smart Poker Pro would play correctly but not act seriously.

There are tweets women that play together and always working together to pad a pot for each other. They will check down every hand it is just them
They used to play at Belle before laburge.

Drive to Biloxi or lake Charles for a better poker scene

Abilify has been linked to compulsive gambling. If you've taken Abilify and experienced compulsive gambling you can call Morris Bart and receive significant compensation.

A guy that's parents live next to me does this very thing.

I have asked him several time about it and how he does it.

He said during the day, its old retired guys who play way to conservative and make the game boring. On Friday and Saturday nights is when it's good at L'Auberge. Also at Harrah's in NOLA because drunk folks make stupid bets.

I personally don't know how it works but I'm just going off what he tells me

I'm not saying don' t play to win. I'm just saying when everyone else is there to hangout at a $10 cash game, you can play like Phil Hellmuth but don't act like him.

quite a few actually. I'm in there a good bit but don't use it as my main source of income. A lot of the people who do it for a living are older or retired. It's good to have a nice bankroll to start as you are going to get busted eventually in a session because luck will happen no matter how good you are.

These players have been around Baton Rouge awhile they have followed the poker room from the Belle to Hollywood now Lauberge. They also travel a lot and play.

I met one guy who plays Magic the gathering for a living and Poker on the side.

If you mean you we have probably played before. I don't get in as much lately because I'm working 6 days a week.
