Your question doesn't really make sense. If they were ripping you off because they can, workers would be going back to work.

Worse than it ever has been. Permanent damage. The governor is not helping much.

We act like a banana republic, and to a larger degree than anywhere else in the US, we extract money from oil companies like one.

We don't have a hell of a lot left in oil. Natural gas is woefully low in price. It's end times bad from a strategic standpoint, at least on the upstream side.

Gas is almost $2.50 a gallon, they are all rich again.

I sure hope so. Ole neighbor baw had to sell his truck-nuts for some beef jerkey and a can of skoal. Tough times.

You must have been born after 1980.

My company is still canning people like it's the 80s, and spending is staying pretty much frozen until next year.

You do realize that a significant portion of the ppg at the pump is made up of taxes right? Sometimes upward of $.45 a gallon, regardless of price.

Should turn around soon. With gas prices going up in the summer, it's going to be more expensive for the fuel trucks to ship and deliver fuel to the gas stations. The major companies pass the extra fuel costs on the to consumer, so gas prices go up.

Doubtful. The Shell VIP tent at Jazz Fest this year was serving Miller lt and hi life and snacks were limited to nabisco products.

This is my fourth bust, young whippersnapper.

The difference between this bust and past ones is that Louisiana doesn't have much in the way of oil reserves left for majors to come back for, and the legal climate here has turned poisonous towards operators.
