I’m not sure I have the time today on Bama gameday to get into a lengthy explanation of commodity pricing dynamics or how O &G is still needed to build and power EVs and it’s just changing the delivery mode of demand while minimally impacting the gross demand.

But the short version is, if we went into an impossible adoption situation you would just see a shift to more focus on natural gas than oil. The market has moved back and forth before so this is nothing new.

Btw I worked in O &G for over a decade, was laid off in the 2014 downturn and diversified my career to be blended with O &G and renewables.
f
i get and know all that... but to act like there would no impact to O&G if there is a boom in electric vehicles all of a sudden on the road, well that's intellectually dishonest, but of course you know that

and i'm sorry you had to go through that in 2014, by the way...

I kept telling people while they were shitting on Tesla before Elon bought Twitter that they should support the most American made cars in the industry.

I remember stories from a few years back about the domestic automakers prioritizing employee parking.

Like at a Ford plant, Ford drivers can park up front, other domestics can park in the middle and imports can park in the back.

The idiot parking attendants were towing or ticketing the teslas for being in the Domestic lot.

wonder if they'll still view him as some sort of savior when they lose their job over decreased demand for their product?

it has happened in our lifetimes... i have quite a few family members who have been furloughed, laid off, etc when oil was down... directional drillers, deckhands, etc...

a volatile industry =/= long term decline in a product’s demand. at least in this case. you’re shifting the goalposts.

as a well-known fence sitter on this website, i’m sure this thread and situation tingles your downstairs parts. BUT i don’t think it’ll work out as the “gotcha” we all know you’re hoping for. It’ll likely result in a bunch of Left leaning Tesla owners selling their Teslas for ICE vehicles.

Many DJT voters are just like you and me.

would consider a hybrid but not a full electric yet. I like to take back roads.

I'd jump at a free hybrid.

But I don't want to wait for an EV to charge. Takes 5 minutes to fill a tank.

It’s just a shift in mindset. Plug in when you get home for the night once a week and you’ll likely have enough charge to last you 300+ miles.

Or just charge it overnight and never have to think about it otherwise?

I’ve had mine for a while, it’s an amazing car and I don’t miss going to shitty gas stations. And I don’t give a damn about tree hugging or green environment Crap. It’s just that cool of a car.

And MAGA Elon!! Love it
