re: Are oil change places the biggest racket on Earth?

Yep these places are really bad with synthetics. Both of my cars require synthetic so it's at least $90. And they don't use quality filters like Napa, Delco or Mopar. They use crap like penzoil or havoline.
And there's zero accountability if they fail to tighten your drain plug and the oil runs out. I always take it home and sit it over a white poster board to check for leaks before going on a post oil change trip.

Mine is around $100 for synthetic. I only change it like once a year though. I work close to my house so I don't put a lot of miles on my vehicle.

I bring it to a oil change place, but i always keep a little at home to help start fires, not in the fireplace for you idiots.

So what's so funny? That their warranty. Ever try it? I've used it for over 12 yrs; no oil issues.

lol i've never paid more than $20 for an oil change in my life.
PRO TIP: Crest Honda in metrocenter nashville will change the oil on ANY vehicle for $20 and in their waiting room there is free coffee, donuts, popcorn and hotdogs.
also dont forget to ask for a complimentary car wash..they will wash your car for free after oil change.

You're paying to be able to sit inside your vehicle with the a/c on, radio playing, wearing khakis and a polo while someone else changes your oil in 10 minutes.
How the hell do you run your A/C with the motor off?

"Heat" up...clown
I guess they just started with temperature gauges too.
Oil doesn't disappear, it leaks or is burned (bad rings, etc)
Happened to you twice? Really? Dude, your negligence is obvious, period.
