Are midnight Christmas fireworks an issue where you live?

The argument in Kenner is between those who don't like the noise between those who said they've always had fireworks on new years eve.

I find it annoying. I always thought fireworks were for two days out the year.

Now it seems Christmas social media is full of fireworks complaints.

I hope so. Love when people pop them off.

No, but they certainly seem to be an issue on the OT.

It's pretty wild that we've had several threads about this because I had never heard of Christmas fireworks until last night when I was close to going on a search and destroy mission for whoever the fricking piece of shite was in my neighborhood that was shooting them off at midnight last night.

Short of murder and rape, that has to be the worst possible thing someone can do.

I generally do not mind them, but think it's inconsiderate after 11pm on 12/24.

Last night they were just far enough from my house that it sounded like someone knocking on the side door. Didn't affect anyone in the house but me, but read stories where it woke up kids in houses where the parents were setting up the tree for the morning. The fact that this is a possibility should be enough reason for those that want to shoot to be considerate enough to put it off for 1 day after 10 or 11pm on 12/24.

I rather hear fireworks than the boom-boom bass crew. What do people get out of bass that shakes the bones.?

Listening to Led Zep,Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones very loud is a different matter and is acceptable.

The same people who complain about everything. If you're having fun, it really pisses off these Karens.

I'd rather listen to a coworker naw an apple in my face as I ate a mayonnaise sandwich than fireworks wake up my kids on Christmas eve.

It's really not the issue.

The issue is that you're inflicting your noise on others. You wanna see fireworks? Cool. I didn't sign up for that shite. Collectively we agree on two days a year. To do it on any days other than those two is just inconsiderate of your neighbors.

It's all about what you want with the consequences wiped away.

I love a good fireworks show. I don't like the a-hole neglected 13 year old with behavioral issues lighting off black cats intermittently for days on end with no threat of consequence.

Unless you live in the country, you inflict a lot of things on people with delicate sensibilities every single day.

I've come to the conclusion that these complainers shouldnt live in a city or suburb. All they try to do is control others.

You're not going to get any pushback from me here. I completely agree, and I try my best to be conscious of that.

Washing your car, working on your car, parties, loud engines, smoking, barbecuing, bonfires, dogs barking, construction, etc. are all things that people SHOULD think about doing carefully.

The difference is that with these things, much of it is agreed upon. If you live in a neighborhood, you have to expect to deal with some of that. And if someone is doing something excessively you can go talk to them. If someone 5 blocks away is lighting off a firework, who knows where they are? And they are disturbing an exponential amount of people, not just the people on their block.

If you’re drunk enough, you won’t hear them.
