Yes, the shorts on the right are sloppy looking in comparison to the shorts on the left. As further evidence of this, I point to the numerous posts in this thread of cargo supporters who openly admit that they don't put forth any effort in how they dress and, further, don't care. I'm not sure if you understand the meaning of the term "absurd".

The cargos are still more sloppy. However, I don't wear 4" inseam shorts, so they all look pretty silly to me.
