Fun fact: Box Turtles have a range of only about one mile. They stay in that area their entire life and if you move or relocate them they can get depressed and die.

Some rockfish have incredibly small territories/range.

This one has a territory of two meters, or around six feet. Their entire life, and it isn't a short life, is spent in that area.

Even at turtle speed they can cover a fair distance in 5 minutes.

My dog thinks turtles are magical. A friend that hides in a ball! One day he'll run into a snapper that will change his mind.

I caught one and set it loose in my medium sized backyard. I only saw him one more time 2 years later in the front yard. I've never seen a baby terrapin

We also have a perpetual colony of box turtles. Rarely don’t see at least one a day. Kinda cool for some reason.

That wasn't just a turtle. That was your spirit animal. It's disappearance represents to you the disappearance of Georgia's defense. It is wise.

Box Turtles are ferried around by Crows in a box. You will never see the Crow with a box that has the Box Turtle inside because Crows can sense when humans are watching. As soon as they know you are not paying attention, they drop the turtle off at its destination.

But a five ounce crow cannot carry a one pound turtle. An African crow, perhaps, but then of course African crows are not migratory.

All I know is a turtle head can apply the same pressure as a hydraulic press.

I have two pet box turtles. I have had one for 30 years and the other for about 20 years. If they were capable of teleporting they probably would have teleported out of their pen by now.

I have my own tortoise.

His name is Speedy.

He is my living artwork. My chi, if you will.

He gives me great peace, as he is always smiling.
