Are any of y’all familiar with r/dadumbway

I’ve kind of gotten away from Reddit because of their draconian anti free speech moderators but I can’t help but be totally fascinated by this subreddit.
It’s basically all the gang activity in New Orleans and BR. It’s like having a periscope to seeing what’s going on just a couple neighborhoods over. I guess this stuff is being done mostly by teenagers and teenagers like Reddit. It is incredible how different my life is just maybe 20 or so blocks away. Like New Orleans almost has two different realities operating.

It’s pretty much dominated by some white guy that shoots all the local music videos. I can’t remember his name but he’s like every other post. There’s for sure some interesting stuff on there though

ETA: and the posts may be generated by him but there are quite a few comments showing plenty of people who know about and are involved the scene.
Actually some nuanced conversations here and there. Mostly involving how federal agents operate and how some people will be targeted for breaking certain laws. Also apparently someone tipped these kids off that having a stock on a short barreled rifle is a felony so I see a lot of short barreled ARs on there with nothing but a buffer tube to get around that.

I mean schools/parks in BR are gun free zones right?

Those are classified as pistols by the ATF. They are legal. A barrel less than 16" needs federal approval.
Now, possessing a stolen firearm or possession by a convicted felon is a different story.

I know
that’s what I’m saying. I didn’t expect 16 year olds to really be that tuned into most gun laws. Especially when it starts to get a little confusing like with NFA items. I didn’t know about those when I was that young. I was surprised that they actually have modified the guns to be legal.

I think the feds are about to make things a lot less interesting pretty soon though

I think so. I have to imagine that these kids aren't thrilled about all these forums and bloggers but they basically tell on themselves on social media.
As for the law for stocks on short barrels mentioned above, I seriously doubt they are aware of any of that, they probably just got it from someone who was (whether by unplanned donation or some other way)

shite I assumed it was the kids themselves posting and commenting for clout.
