it's not a big deal for kids to miss a day of school once or twice a year if there's bad weather.

it really doesn't matter.

My car was reading 7 degrees when I drove into the school I work at this morning

I have no more sympathy left to give.

If much more rain would have fallen and the threat existed of ice or frozen puddles on the roads, I feel they would likely have called off classes. It seems as if far less rain than was predicted fell though.

It is the parents fault. Not the teachers or the school systems. Parents are the problem not the schools. Parents throw a fit about any and everything nowadays. So the schools just say fuk it y’all want to complain your kid gets cold on the bus we just won’t have school and y’all can keep them. Then they complain school is closed and they can’t find anyone to keep their kids. It doesn’t mater what you do these days someone is going to be complaining about something.

That's why we homeschool Jaxxtyn. Currently we're in Arizona for winter travel ball.

I blame the weathermen/ladies. They make any kind of weather event seem apocalyptic and it sends everybody into a frenzy.

It’s got more to do with this:

“Do our pathetic HVAC systems in our underfunded school system have the ability to heat the schools for a few hours?”

We got out one day because it was too cold. Think it was like -3 when the busses would have come.

Except for the fact that mom or dad (with younger kids) has to burn a vacation day, which sucks.

God forbid they take safety protocol.

If something happens and some kids get hurt then people will be all up in arms about why they didn't close school.
