Nursing homes and hospitals finna find out.
The state medical center has their own well for their main campus. That’s the only way they stay open.

Hood - Is a a common term derived from the hinds county region of Mississippi. It is a shortened version of neighborhood that came about when all of the well to do neighbors moved out, thus shortening the term since there were no more neighbors only rats.

What's weird is the people that live in and around Jackson including the burbs especially Madison think are snooty AF.
That’s doesn’t just plague places like Jackson. It’s also in the BR as well. I fashion it to severe overcompensation.

That’s 1. There are a dozen or more long term healthcare facilities in Jackson Metro. I’m sure they will be fine but it’s going to be a giant pain in the arse.

Chokwe Antar Lumumba is an American attorney, activist and politician serving as the 53rd mayor of Jackson, Mississippi. Lumumba soundly won the Democratic nomination, defeating incumbent mayor Tony Yarber and John Horhn, a state senator
What else do you need to know about this situation?

I dont think people realize how terribly run alot of these water systems are.
Typically, they are using the utility fees to support bloated payroll rather than reinvesting into the infrastructure. Then when the system collapses, it's a public health emergency and the state and feds fix it for them.
ETA: It's deliberate If we frick it up bad enough, it won't be our problem and can still be giving out them gubment jobs to dey momma cousin.

Oh for sure. And the 4 big hospitals are all in Jackson . Three of them are on the same big giant block (St. Ds, VA, UMMC). Baptist is right down state.
Now the smaller places like out in brandon and madison dont have to worry. The suburbs have great water.

Given enough time, the government can frick up almost anything it touches. Water systems, post office, public schools, forced integration, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, and so on.

This is also not anything new. I went to Millsaps and when we came back from Winter break back in 2010 a few of the water mains failed and a lot of the city was completely without water. They sent us all back home for two weeks because the entire campus had no water.

At least when I was in school there the only thing I think Jackson may have on Baton Rouge is restaurants/food. Other than that I have lived both places and Baton Rouge > Jackson and I don't like Baton Rouge. Jackson (not burbs) is a literal shithole.

this was because of the Freeze? I remember the city being without water for a week, but don't remember the year.

He's 10x worse than you can imagine. Everything is blamed on systemic racism with not effort to fix. If the city does get some type bailout/windfall/settlement, the money is quickly syphoned off by cronies.
President Trump came to the city several years ago, the Mayor wouldn't meet with him. So you're leading the worst city in America that is crumbling all around you, the most powerful man in the world come to town and you won't meet with him?
