I have $2 million with Chubb with UM coverage for like $650 a year.

You should shop around

Our State Farm $1M is still $400/yr. Louisiana sucks!

Part of the cost is 73% of Louisiana drivers don’t have insurance at all! That’s insane! That’s why UM is now equal to or more than liability.

We don’t enforce the insurance laws enough.

All you are insuring is your noneconomic damages. And if you want to protect your family, buy life insurance.

So , me being the breadwinner for my family if I get in a car wreck at the fault of someone else and become incapacitated to work and they have little to no insurance , my umbrella with UI would help
Yes. My health insurance would cover my medical bills minus co pays and deductibles, if I would be able to keep my job which provides health insurance for me and my family
Disability insurance, yeah I got it but they will only write it for up to about 66% of current income and if I become incapacitated my expenses go up but down
So , for me, I choose to buy an umbrella with underinsured motorist added, it cost about 1200/year, for me it helps me sleep better at night, do what makes you happy, but there are some real reasons on why people choose to buy UI

I get it, and it works for you.

But for me, DI at 66% is pretty close to net, because you don’t pay taxes or social security on it.

Also, I have access to stable health insurance whether I’m able to work or not.

So it is not a good deal for me.

Agent told me they've been paying out more than they're taking in. $1MM coverage went up to $2,450 a year for me. Almost 100% increase.

I'll renew RLI and drop the SF. That's absurd.

Honor all existing customers with major bump. New policies will not be written.

Lake Charles area.
