The roots definitely do. Even the exact strain of radicalism that fueled the earliest Marxist regimes and uprisings and the National Socialist and Fascist malformations/mutations.

Just to be clear, Matt Taibbi has been one of the most outspoken opponents of the current crazy. He was quoting the Failing NYT.

It’s got to be so obvious, right?

There is nothing about that sentiment that is Marxist or part of actual critical theory.

The construct of time is universal around the world, it is an agreement between people on when to meet in order to perform an action. Before "mechanical" time it was natural time, like the sunrise or sunset. Marx would've known that, as Marx would've likely had meetings with people. Likewise, anyone associated with critical theory and its beginnings would've known that too.

To try and distill that idea into one that's emblematic of race is one of the stupidest things I've ever read, ever.

This is some completely absurd troll to see who they actually have under their spell. Trump did this kind of shite first, and for some reason these "leftists" think that it's a strategy they should employ too.

It's completely bonkers and I want out of it.

- and it should be noted taibi was quoating a NYT story that said that, he wasn't saying he agreed with it.

We’ll have to call it neo Marxism then.

Airplanes are used around the world too. So is oil. But that doesn’t make them any less oppressive. They were both built, developed, and commercialized by whites who used reason/logic, math and science to their advantage to the exclusion of others. That’s the new racism. We see the same argument now attached to the concept of time.

I of course reject the utter nonsense of it all, but I am interested in the arguments.
