Regardless of your job, when someone is shooting kids you jump to action. I’m sorry, but my heart strings would have taken over in that situation. I’d probably have been killed, but I would have dove that motherfricker until I dropped.

Sometimes action is simply the best answer. Logic can paralyze by analyze

Maybe, or maybe an emotionally charged parent with balls does make a difference. Better than not trying at all when your kids are being mowed down

This isn’t a fricking Disney film, dear lord

And as it appears at the moment, the cops were actively restraining families from trying to do just that, which, I get. What I dont get is the cops not going in to confront the shooter, and according to one witness, now lying about that.

Yeah, it's real life with real parents and real children.
Also, what the hell kind of Disney film do you watch?

I would have been killed. No cop would stop me from just standing there while that was going on.

He just a pussy that would’ve sat outside also waiting for “protocol” and been fine with doing the minimum

Y’all are really this stubborn to just not own up to the fact that this kid shouldn’t have had an AR-15 in the first place. This whole nonsense is to divert blame & attention from the real issue. This kid legally purchased the weapons to be able outgun a police force and put himself in a defendable position that we didn’t have a quick magical answer to solve.

If your kid was in a school, the cops were outside and there was action inside, you would try to do something.
If you didn't, you are one gigantic pussy or have no natural bond to your children..

This doesn’t change anything. I would’ve most likely made the situation worse and added another death to the kill count.

You realize more than one thing can be true at a time correct?
The kid should never have had a gun, and, the emerging timeline and reports paint a Parkland redux where officers hesitated to take action and follow SOP and it may have cost additional lives.

You understand that if the guy was in a classroom or other room with limited exits, it would not take many officers to contain him right?
There's a difference between containing the suspect properly and standing back allowing him to roam around.
Again we don't know. There were officers on scene with kids in the school, its absurd to think they wouldn't have wanted to do something if the guy was walking around.

Who cares if I'm one more on the death count. Whether it's my kids or anyone else's kids, nothing is stopping me from going in that building. If the shooter wastes a few rounds on me instead of an kid, it's worth it.

We limit speech. We limit protesting. Both protected rights in this country. We need to admit this is a problem.

Again, he was able to lock himself in a classroom with kids hostage with an AR-15 and previous knowledge of shooting victims. There is no magical answer to this scenario, but could he have pulled this off with a Glock pistol?

no no no no every available officer should be storming the building guns blazing....

I don’t believe I buy that theory. If the active shooter, an 18 year old kid, was confronted with return fire, you think it’s more likely he would have killed a trained officer easy and quickly enough to go back to shooting and killing the children? It’s obviously speculation but I don’t think the body count would be where it’s at today.

Pretty sure the Virginia Tech shooter proved that yes, it can be done.
