Yes, things have come to a grinding halt over here.

A NOLA restaurant group laid off 500 this week. No business, so they had no choice - either that, or go under.
My company laid off about 30 this week.

They are going to start temp scanning us soon. If anyone ends up testing positive they are sending everyone home. About 2000 people.
This is why the government has to mandate closings. By the time the temperature scan alerts them, the sick person will have been infecting others for at least a week.

I was furloughed for at least two weeks yesterday with the possibility of more but I still get paid so I'm not overly concerned yet. I know others are not as fortunate though.

Of course I am
My department can work 100% from home, but the factory can’t and most of engineering can’t (yet). We are actually in the process of hiring 1-2 people in our department, so I’m thinking this will slow that down

My dad has for at least 30 days. Dental equipment salesman. fricking retarded.
My wife is a PA, so I’m sure she’ll be the absolute last field that gets shut down, I’m not worried about myself getting shut down either unless one of my employees shows up sick.

Florida told bars to shut down for 30 days. How many bar owners can afford to shut down for a month?

More people working from home is one change.

Probably less restaurants, more people eating at home
Nope. That’s a big swing and a miss
There will be less restaurants in the immediate aftermath, but they will come back and then some.

Even if this subsides in 30 days, dentists will have no income to buy equipment if they wanted to.

My company went to one week on, one week off furloughs for everyone for two months. This is oil and gas. It’s not so much about the virus as it is about the economy. We were already falling steeply due to the crash in 2014. Then the Russians and Saudi Arabia got into a price war this year. Now this. I just hope I can hold on to my job.

My job is safe (pharma mfg) but wife's vet clinic has already shutdown.
If my job shuts down we have bigger problems than the virus.

Not worried about losing it but I may have to go home soon. I can’t really work from home.

I sell capital equipment to technical colleges and school districts, so naturally I have concerns as this is the time we ramp up and get super busy.
In fact, I have a $5M contract with Cobb County in place right now and I'm not certain how we can fulfill it. Even if we can fulfill it, I'm not sure we can install it as scheduled and get paid since the district is completely shut down.

A little. Oil in the shitter. I'm good financially but I've been laid on once before (never fired) and it feels pretty crappy
