I had a similar issue but I have stainless steel pipes. When the pipes froze, all the corrosion and calcium got suspended in the pipes. (Luckily, only the PVC section of the house busted)

I also had to clean out several faucet nozzles, hoses and filters. I even had to put the shop vac on the washing machine that was how much stuff got in there. I even replaced a toilet valve because of this.

When all was finished, the water did come out red/yellow/brown for a little while, but then turned clear.

I haven't noticed any coloration change in the water but since the big freeze I have noticed the Ascension Waste Water tuck at the front of my subdivision numerous times. Figured they were monitoring pressure reading or something.
Hell, he was there this morning when I left. Now you got me worried.

After a hard freeze, this happens. It comes from the inside of the pipes. I have clay pipes in some parts and I've been having a little sand in my water. We had issues with the washer machine so we took the hoses off and the traps were full of sand.

Most likely, it is your hot water heater. How old is it?

The life expectancy for these is usually around 10 to 15 years. Mine is approaching 10 years now.

If you continue to have this problem, check your manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.

Of course it's brownish...Matassa bought a pile of shite with taxpayer money. Bet he gets really good Christmas presents from the folks who sold the shite.

Came home from work today and now see the brown discoloration. I have confirmed it is coming from the main. It was not visibly present until today and my neighbors have confirmed they have it too.

I’ve seen like 15 times cleaner water today on the Quad.

I saw someone opening a fire hydrant over here in Livingston Parish today, and about the first ten seconds of water that came out was damn near black. Nasty looking shite. :notracist:
