Texas has snipers set up at the border, ordered to shoot to kill on anyone from Louisiana trying to enter their state.

My grandfather trailers horses to and from Texas frequently from the Gonzales area. He drove in and out of Texas yesterday with no issues -- wasn't stopped once.

Be sure to laminate your insurance card so that, along with your drivers license, you can lick it before handing it out your fully open window when stopped.

When the smartly dressed baw in black and grey on the border says "Papieren bitte", he means he wants to see your drivers license and proof of insurance.
