To be honest kratom got its popularity because opiate addicts used it to get off opiates. Sure, you can still get fricked up on it but the side effects are menial compared to the harder stuff. And in a 20th of the dose they do it's quite beneficial. Big pharma would rather write them a methadone script and get hooked on that instead, which is part of the legality issue.

As someone who has quit opiates a few times, this is complete bullshite.

Kratom will do nothing to the tolerance you build up on opiates. It would be like taking advil while detoxing, useless.
