Just drove down I59 near Heidelberg.

Gah damn.

The breadth of the damage is crazy, I get that it was 2.25 miles wide or whatever but seeing it in person is really stunning.

Went through Seminary on the way to the beach earlier and saw a ton of damage from it.

I kind of loosely followed the path of it, went thru Soso and saw where it crossed 84, then in Seminary where you mentioned.

I had a black angus beef cow being primed out in Seminary. Named her Ester. I have no idea what came of her. Just glad I didn't pay in advance.

edited to add link of video of damage. Not sure who Anna is. Would like to talk to Anna more about the tornado.

I’ve been seeing that damage on I59. Didn’t know when it was from.

Do you have some more details, please ?

It sure knocked down a bunch of trees. There is a deer stand unscathed in the middle of the knocked down timber on a hill. It looked like maybe it didn’t touch ground as just the tree tops were snapped off.

Its a blessing it didn't hit a more populated area, this storm was just as intense as the Tuscaloosa tornado but wider.

It also gave us this interview gem

Here's a storm chaser video of it, believe this is on 84 between Laurel and Collins

That could have been a very bad situation if that tornado were heading towards Hattiesburg or even closer to Laurel. That thing was a monster

Grew up in Moss, MS (sometimes referred to as Mossville by the locals). This was my childhood place of worship - Moss Baptist Church. The destruction to this area was unreal. It's still unrecognizable and incredibly sad.

That area behind the church was all Loblolly pines and hardwoods. As you can see, the tornado stripped the land.

It's a sparsely populated community. Some people's homes were untouched. My grandparents live just down County Road 8 from the church. Their place was unharmed but their neighbor's (about 50yds from their house) roof was ripped off. The closer to the church the worse it is.

It's wild how it works out that way.

I lived through it. West side of Jones county was hammered. I watched it come across Leaf River bottom and my pasture. I still get an uneasy feeling when I think about it. To witness that kind of power is a sobering moment. If the storm would have jogged 100 yards south, my address would be different.

She’s country as shite but seems like a real nice lady. Checking on her family and then the neighborhood, just being a good steward of her community.

I bet she can cook a mean breakfast too.
