Yea, they are noisy like a golf cart lol. The C8 is the good kind of noise, engine and exhaust.

Well, I’m 36 with no gray hair. I’d say all the C8 owners I’ve met here in FL are my age or younger.

Mines the updated one so less road noise. It has the double layered windshields

Avg age of Corvette buyers is like mid 50s

Not on the new C8, but keep repeating that tired bullshite

I'll takevl your word for it.
The ones we rode in seemed fairly new, and it seemed to me that most of the noise was from the road, and from lack of sound deadening material in the rear compartment.
NVH is not a strong suit for Tesla, but I can see your point about it being a great commuter car.

My wife is a doc who works shitty hours so she loves it. Put it on auto and write notes. Me on the other hand have her shitty Subaru and some money to buy a car. Sports car seemed cool but riding in one makes me realize maybe I just want a GT car

My Targa GTS is amazingly quiet, relatively speaking, and may be a decibel or 2 quieter than the C8.
Look for cars later in the styling generation as manufacturers generally improve NVH later in the cycle.

Plenty of solid options out there now.

There are a lot of sub-$100K "GT cars" but you have to expand your definition beyond the classic GT car which usually comes at a hefty price.
There are two that come to mind:
1. Lexus LC 470hp NA V8 and it has the soft edge I think you will appreciate. Even if your budget pushes you to used it isn't an issue. Not only is it a Lexus but they tend to be 3rd vehicles with fairly low miles and not driver by boy racer wannabes. Classic GT lines by the Japanese.
2. Caddy CT5-V Blackwing 668hp supercharged V8 and a lot of car for the money, plus manual tranny is available if that trips your trigger. It isn't a classic GT shape but it is a great car but I honestly don't know how easy it is to get nor what the ADM might be.

Sedate but very well appointed interior for eating up the miles

I had a 21 Mach one. That car was made for the track. I had the cup 2s on there and hated driving it on the road
Yeah, there isn’t a better track beast for the money than a Mach 1 w/track pkg. After 2,500 street miles and 1 track day, my Cup 2 tires looked like this:

And like you said, they were horrible on the street (and practically unusable in the rain). I switched to Pilot Sport 4S tires and they were still going strong after 13,000 miles and 2 track days. Great on the street and I ran the same lap times as I did on the Cups. The Cups will only make a difference on the track with a very advanced driver imo.
My C8 came with Pilot Sport 4S. Here’s a pic after 10K miles and 2 track days:

Sorry, the Tesla. I was really surprised at how much road noise made it into the cabin. My F-250 diesel is waaaay more quiet.
Really? I’ve got a 2023 Tesla and a 2022 F250 and the Tesla doesn’t seem too bad.

It is probably accurate. The polls I have seen on Vette forums put the avg C8 buyer in the mid-50s with the highest 10 year percentage from 60-69. That is not remotely surprising since the average age of a new car buyer is 50-51. The average age for new 911 buyers is 52. The Vette age has come down with the C8 but it hasn't dropped dramatically because again the average age for new car buyers is over 50.
Vette buyers just keep buying Vettes, I have 2 friends both in their 70s that own a C8 and multiple other Vettes. I don't really know why it is seen as such a bad thing, the average age of all the real sportscars is going to be high. There aren't a lot of 20 somethings pulling up in a SF90, there are a few but the bulk are going to be in their 40s-60s, it isn't a lack of want it is a lack of cash.

A Vette has always been an old man’s car for me. I’m 42 and could bought a vette 10 years ago that would mean the world to me.

I was just comparing my 2022 truck to the Teslas I rode in.
The Teslas seem more noisy to me, those trucks are really quiet on the highway, as you know.

The C8 buyer has a median age that of or younger than the 911 buyer depending on 911 model.

M2, M4…the 6 speed is fricking glorious with the inline 6. Will be comfortable and understated compared to a pure sports car…

He’s complaining about loudness, he doesn’t need an M car

Posted on 10/31/23 at 8:00 am to DCtiger1
The fart cans on his Subaru are probably louder. I think the M2 would be perfect. Gorgeous $75k car.
