I dont hate it per se, but I find no fun it it at all. Might as well just go buy the damn fish from the market. You are just dropping to the bottom and reeling up
I feel the same way....im not really big into bluewater fishing as it is..I make a few trips a year.... inshore saltwater is my deal...and I love catfishing with bush or jug lines during hunting season

Let me give you another thing to do
Go get some old scrap propane tanks, cut out a hole in them, and drop them to the bottom. Dont even need to put bait in them
Come back the next day and you will have two nice cats in every bottle you threw out. Its great. Guaranteed catfish and you dont have to mess with buying and hooking bait

I guess thats one of the reasons I never got into bass fishing......kinda hard to drink.
If Im in a boat, I feel like it's mandatory to be drinking.....doesnt matter what time it is.

Work the trolling motor, pitching around structure etc etc
Not much time to slam some cans.

I dont get along very well with my troll motor as it is when red fishing, I cant imagine having to deal with one while bass fishing.

Bass fishing or actually catching bass?

Gotta set priorities.

I have a friend that owns a 3 bedroom condo at Pheonix West he bought, probably 5 years ago. They use it around 4-5 times a year. Maybe a little more and rent it out the rest of the time. They clear around $30k a year with it. Seems to be doing pretty good with it.
Only way they are clearing $30,000 per year is if they paid cash and have no mortgage. $30,000 per year is just slightly less than the average gross rental income for a condo in Phoenix West.

Im pretty sure they paid cash....

buying a second property that we could enjoy with our young children. We are 3 hours from the Gulfport/Biloxi area, and I think we would go at least one weekend a month and try to rent it out when we weren’t using the unit
I like living in Biloxi, but if you're looking to short term rent the place when you're not there, it would be more profitable to buy in Orange Beach.
If you're looking for a second home, I'd consider Bay St Louis.

Eta: you get just about the same per night for a camp in GI as you can for a condo in OB
I don't believe that.

We went for the 4th. The water was clearer than Destin. You could easily see 4’ down.

You don’t believe camps in Grand Isle rent for $350-$400 a night?
You should probably do some research

I’ll post some pictures in a little bit.
Never mind, I don’t have them on my phone. But you can easily see 4’ down where we were. The water was extremely clear.

I could see camps going well over that for tampon rodeo, but not year round.
You have to drive through some of the shittiest speed traps in the state to get there, and there is nothing to do but fish and set out crab traps.
Oh, there's the half assed version of florabama, too.

I love the MS gulf coast, but the beach and water is trash compared to FL Panhandle. I live on the beach in Pensacola and there’s nothing in Mississippi that even compares much less comparing to Destin
What water do you stare at out of your condo in Biloxi and or Gulfport?
